Falcon Ghabash Discusses Ways to Enhance Cooperation with the Speaker of Bangladesh Parliament
Abu Dhabi, Today, His Excellency Falcon Ghabash, President of the Federal National Council, received Her Excellency Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of the Parliament of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, and her accompanying delegation at the Council's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. Her visit marks an official diplomatic mission to the United Arab Emirates.
During their meeting, they discussed strengthening parliamentary coordination and cooperation on international issues of mutual interest, as well as exploring avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors, reflecting the shared commitment and aspirations of both friendly nations' leadership and citizens.
His Excellency Falcon Ghabash commended the significant progress in the bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of Bangladesh. He attributed this progress to the determination of both countries' leadership and governments to elevate these relations to broader horizons in various areas of mutual interest. He emphasized that Her Excellency the Speaker's visit to the Federal National Council represents a significant step toward enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the two sides, building upon the high level achieved in political and economic relations between the two nations.
In her response, Her Excellency Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of the Parliament of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation across various fields, particularly in the parliamentary sphere. She expressed her best wishes to the United Arab Emirates for success in hosting the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28). She also praised the UAE's participation in the BRICS alliance, showcasing the country's prominent position and trustworthiness on the global stage.
She extended an invitation to His Excellency Falcon Ghabash to visit the People's Republic of Bangladesh at the head of a delegation from the Federal National Council, with the goal of continuing discussions on various issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Dr. Nadal Al-Taneiji, Marwan Al-Muhairi, and Mira Al-Suwaidi, members of the Federal National Council, as well as His Excellency Dr. Omar Al-Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Council.
